i can't figure out how to get diff guards on my D1... gas tank is in the way for the rear and the steering arm is in the way on the front. do those things need to be removed?

for the front put the left front tire on a large rock to lift that whole side up then u should be able to get it ot and at the same time while still on that large rock put the rear on.

I ended up just removing the bar that was in my way and then re-installed it.  The rear just wedged in there with a little push

If you cannot tack weld the gaurd on I would put a rope or leash on your rear diff guard.  I lost mine once but was lucky enough for some one to return it.

good thinking, i've had that advice before and actually already leashed both of them with a little metal cable
