Anyone going to British Invasion in Stowe, VT on Spet 18-20?? I have to work that Saturday, but I still hope to make it up there (as a spectator, unfortunately) if I can get my 109 back together in time...

I'm ambitious--I'm going to try to hit the highland games after work on Sat then do British Invasion ultra-early on Sunday.

I went last year, best car show I've ever been to.

and... my D1 is registered this year! It's the white one with rack/light bar/CB. unfortunately i can only be there saturday.

I was hoping to get up there on Saturday for the concours, but my emloyer had different goals...

Too bad it's not a "concours d'uglagance", I could enter my 109.

Honestly, I don't know--Every time I try to go, something comes up, preventing me from getting out there.

I'm TRYING hard to get out there this year. Hopefully my transmission parts from Trevor will arrive in time to get me on the road by next weekend.

Stowe is beautiful... not real Vermont, kind of like an imaginary town designed to be the "quintessential new england" town.

Burlington (not far) is great too, I go to school there. Lots of fun nightlife and hikes/scenic stuff to do during the day.

The car show is chock-full of beautiful cars (a decent amount of Rovers last year, but lots of really high-end Astons, Bentleys ect) and they go all-out for the British theme, lots of shit to buy; books, parts, ect,

It was $55 to register a car so they're not f*ing around.

I'd recommend it, especially if you spend saturday or friday night in Burlington

so did you end up going? we went up sunday. not a big rover crowd, but there were some seriously nice cars there. we are definitely gonna hafta change that esp seeing how next year is the 20th anniversary. think we can get a crew to go? this kid with a seriously hideous d1 won 1st place in his category and i think it was because he had no competition. scary... anyways, we're gonna spend the weekend up there next year. i'll try to remember to send the word out so the rovers can represent! haha

My D1 actually took 3rd on Saturday.

The kid who won was hanging out with a lot of the guys with Series rovers, I think they all came together and voted for each other.

Some chromed-out P38 won 2nd... not really my cup of tea but the thing was actually really clean. (Our category was Discovery/Range Rover btw)

obviously mine was the coolest... haha.

I spent like 7 hours there (you can't leave til the show ends if you're exhibiting) but even my girlfriend didn't complain once. (had to buy her coffee/waters/beers the whole time to keep her complacent but whatever)

We brought a mini grill and lawn chairs and made a day out of it. Great show, I recommend to anyone!

Congrats! He'll definitely have some serious competition next year! haha And I'm sure yours was way nicer than his... god, just about anything woulda been nicer than that thing... *shudder*

My boyfriend (NOT a LR guy... far from it actually) bought a turbo from this dude as I was trying to find a headlamp switch for my truck (unsuccessfully I might add). The guy was wearing a Prince of Darkness shirt and I made a comment about how I love that shirt, he goes, 'oh you can buy a shirt if you want, he doesn't have to be the only one buying parts.' i was like WAHT??? I dragged HIM here, not the other way around haha silly boys...

Well I hope to see you there next year! Matt, you should definitely bring the IIA. Maybe it'll win ugliest haha
