i've heard of people paying up to 6k for a 300 tdi drivetrain. but that doesnt mean it was fair price they paid. TDI's fetch about as much money as a decent series truck lol.

200Tdi engines alone have been listed on LRX lately for about $4500, I think. Having the whole 300Tdi setup including ancillaries and correct transmission at that price isn't too bad, I don't think. I forget what Mike at BritRest was (or maybe still is) getting for Discovery Tdi conversions.

I think the problem for you is that your truck is newer than 96. You might have trouble with emissions because of the OBDII. If you can find a way around it, it would be awesome.
