D1 and D2 question

I might have the chance to pick up a D2 for cheap money because the engine is bad. I was wondering if I could drop my D1 engine into it? I assume I will need the puter for the D1 engine and maybe the tranny. I am hoping it will be an easy swap but want to double check before I give the guy my answer.

I don't see why you couldn't the 4.0 blocks will be no different, so if your just switching the short block it should be no issue
