Sears Diehard Platinum is the best battery out there in my opinion. Made by Odyssey and one hell of a good battery.

Only the Platinum - the others are fine but these things rock.

Jimmy - I have a few good spare batteries, (boatyard, I always have several kicking around) if you can get her going enough to make it to Benton I'll bring one to the Romp for you! Least I can do since I'll be bumming rides from everyone. :)
D2 TDi 5 speed is gone, hunting for a new project.

Project found! Now abusing a '96 D1 4.0 GEMS auto "SD" with goodies.

This weekend I just put on new brake rotors and pads and repacked the wheel bearings at the same time, put new wheel studs in the driver front (they were ready to break), and drilled out and threaded the rear hubs that I had snapped bolts off in.  I also did and oil change, fixed a leaky tire bead, and cleaned the engine bay.  All I have left is to pack up all the spare parts and do a fluids check.

Don, what 35's did you get?  I am running 33's this year with chains because my 35's have had lugs ripped off and you can see the steel belts.  Jimmy I got your axles.

Thanks Scott! I will look for you, I'd love a ride in a TDi D90. You can count on it - I'll dress warmly and bring ear plugs! :D
Doug

Doug: you may want to make sure you have a backup ride. I started to 'fix' a steering issue and the truck is now stood w/o steering in my garage. :banghead
I'm in the process of trying to rebuild the drop arm ball joint. Not sure I'm going to have it done by the weekend (esp after reading some others trials and tribulations on the pitman arm and my lack of 'all-the-right' tools).
I'll keep you posted.
