electronic ignitions in series vehicles
« on: February 16, 2010, 02:21:53 AM »
i had points problems a looong time ago, and happened to have a brand new electric ignitionion lucasmodel 45dm distributer, which comes with model AB14 amplifier(spare for a triumph tr7f..)and it bolted up perfectly, i havent had any problem with it since, and it seemed a ittle beefier(big manly hightech lookin amplifier).petronixlooked to me like ..old worn distributor...huge colorful box with a crackerjack toy inside.. you can also find the 45dm with ab14, as a replacement onalot of leyland MGB cars. Figured id throw that one out there for an electronic ignitionalternative..and they were made around the same time, and look right at home.(although the bugeye in th fam has a petronix, and that truck just didnt have any sack, just floor it doubleclutch and listen to it gasp for air. mine has always been a runner. no hesitation, ooooh yeah
