Great thanks for the info!

A friend of mine is looking for a first car and is thinking about a rover as he likes mine. He's got a few months before he takes his test so that gives us some time to get new springs and rubber under it.

I was really excited to read about the new heater core after replacing mine once... terrible job.

What did you notice about the front fender wells?

Cool thanks. I sent the guy an email about looking at it this weekend.

Hard to tell much from the pictures in the ad, but the price is hard to beat.

funny. Same exact thing was wrong with mine... Well I think it's more like a broken wire in the connector.

Hate to be the one to suggest it, but do you really think that a high-mileage RRC with future nightmare-like rust issues is a good idea for a first rover, let alone first vehicle for a new driver? Personally, I think it is better off as a project vehicle to convert to a dedicated wheeling rig, meanwhile get a better and more reliable vehicle to drive on a daily basis.

We don't want to turn this kid into a bitter, Rover-hating wretch so early in his life do we? There's plenty of old DI's kickin' around for cheap that don't have the rust problems like RRC's do. That classic may be rust free now, but man, when those things decide to go, they go bad.

Well the rust issue remains to be seen... I haven't even seen the truck yet. Believe me, I know what rust can do to a classic. You should see my old '91. However if what Don says is true, then it isn't very rusty at all. If he does buy it (still completely undecided) it will be turned into a mostly trail truck anyway. He knows what he's getting into. After all... he has seen our six rovers plenty of times.

While it's true there are plenty of DI's around, I'm not convinced that their rust issues are any better than that of a Range Rover. After all, they're basically the same vehicle. He's an mechanically adapt kid so I'm not too worried about it.

We'll see what he decided to do.

P.S. - Sorry again about that bump at the romp!

LOL, Don't worry about the bump, it happens. At least I didn't break anything, you just made a match for your broken light in the rear ;).

Well, as long as this kid knows what he's getting in to, power to him. If it's going to be a trail rig not much else matters beyond the engine and drivetrain.
