well another week has gone by and I still survive.  We have lost 3 people to academic failures 1 to physical training testing and one to failing a piss test.  Out of 24 we are down to 19.  I stand at number 3 in the class currently on gpa.  It's been hectic....  I got the saab fixed on thursday so life is good in that respect.  Friday it looks like I blew out my knee unfortunately.  I have to go to a MRI on wed to see if I have torn the meniscus(sp) in my left knee and now need surgery.  No worries though, as I have passed my PT Test on Monday I did 72 push ups in 2 min 66 sit ups in 2 min and 14:50 for running to miles.  Not bad for a old man.  The sad part is I did better than most of the 18 year olds

Everything back at home is going well I'm on the phone with my wife and daughter nightly.  Right now I'm in hour 3 of a 4 hour shift on CQ duty.  I'm looking forward to being relieved so I can take a nap and head to the lake to relax and work on my tan :D

Bill; Good luck on the knee. That's sad to hear. The only reason I never moved back to New England, is the cold. I've had so many knee surgeries, I just can't handle it anymore. Hope the MRI goes well. And good luck with your finals.

Well yet another week of school is drawing to a close and here I sit again on freaking CQ.  Still in the top of the class as far as gpa, my knee is feeling pretty good and I had the MRI.  The results of which aren't due till monday or tuesday.  Tuesday we head the field for 3 days.  I would be looking forward to it except the army medical command has found a way to take the fun out of the field.  We apparently will be sleeping in tents that have a/c on cots have restroom facilities etc....  I tried explaining to them the virtues of sleeping on the ground with a poncho liner as a sleeping bag they seemed un-interested.....   Oct 21st is rolling up quickly for graduation and I'm looking forward to getting out of here.

On a side note I have been given a preview of my next duty assignment, I will be reporting on 16 March 09 to Tuskeegee Alabama.  Unless my friend comes through and I should know by tues or wed, if he pulls it off I will be leaving for Iraq on 28 October instead.

So if not Iraq will the Alabama thing be where you are stationed or just more training?

I'd personally take Iraq over Alabama. Rather be surrounded by taliban than rednecks.

Well my knee turned out to be a contusion with internal bleeding no big deal.  We have one week left before graduation and I can head back to the great north and kiss the wife, hug the daughter pet the dogs and wax the rover before heading to the sand box.  Looks like I'll finish in the top of my class which means we are getting some real dumb asses in the army these days when a polock infantry guy is the smartest thing that they can find.

I'll be home for a few days to spend some time with the wife and daughter.  When I leave I'll start a thread and update it with a day in the life as often as I can.

Oh and I'm going as a Infantryman not some loser med duchebag!
