Determined? LOL! Yeah, sort of driven. I want to see how much of a project like this I can do on my own, you know. I was a pretty good mechanic at Porsche, and I am mechanically inclined. So with enough research, I am hoping to really tackle a big project. I am sure if I was building for up north, or out west, my design phase would have taken a lot of other things into the equation. But for Florida flatland, water, and mud; this seems to be a good compromise. I'm keeping a 4 cylinder, so I don't think I will be wheelieing it. I was considering rebuilding my 4.0 with a carburetor conversion initially, but figured it was just too much power without this truck being a trialer. So I'm doing an 8:1 2.25 with header, ported and polished head, 2 brl, and 2.5 cam. Should be enough.
I appreciate the advise and the kind words, Matt.
If I pull this one off, the next wil be a Trialer project with my 4.0, on a RRC SWB chassis, shortened down, and fitted with a Tomcat subframe, and rollcage.

I didn't want anyone thinking I stopped on this project. Had to bring these in from the UK, so I got a much better price then using american parts suppliers. Had Safari Rover in Orlando bring them in. Brand new take-off Wolf XD wheels. Set of 5 for less than 400 dollars. Bead locks are on order, then to the welder, and then to the powdercoaters.

Thanks. They are limestone on the outside, grey inside. Here's a link to the beadlock kit I ordered. Style # 3, with cutouts for the valve stems.

Daniel,

I was checking out your pics, and have a few questions.
First, it looks as though your using stock front springs?.. with a S.O.A.?...If your going to go through all of this to make a cool truck, remove the stock fronts, and use factory rear springs up front. Yes, you'll need to modify the mounts, but stock front springs are not going to let you take advantage of the droop of a S.O.A. setup, they're far too short. In the rear, F-150 springs work GREAT.
Your going through a lot of work here,... only to have someone with a spring under and with pararbolics show you up. Not cool.
Longer springs are where it's at.
Just trying to help, if I was some arm chair wheeler I'd sit back and drool, but this thing is going to have potential, hate to see it limited..just my .02 though, heck, what do I know, I build VW dunebuggies.....LOL

Carey; it will be riding on Parabolics. Whenever Bill at GBR gets the Haystee's back in stock. Want to only go with the best on this project. Was thinking rears on all four corners, but want to keep it more original than that, so just OPara's on all four corners. Won't use a different rear simply because the whole idea of this rig was to keep it 100% Rover. Don't want to insult it's heritage by adding some junk POS american made components.

Okay; Number one; SPELL correctly, son. It's PORSCHE.

Number Two; Don't forget to pronounce it correctly also; It's Poor-Sha'.

After owning two of them, and working for them for a few years, I get really anal retentive on those two points. LMAO!
