2" RTE body lift questions... Don pay attention...
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:52:52 PM »
Mostly to Don and Matt lol.

How much longer brake lines will I need to go with?  As you guys know I've got a 3+ inch lift.

Also Don when you got new lines where did you get them from.  Matt do you sell them?

lol i didnt get new lines mine are all stock all around. i just moved the mounts in the front and twisted and made a new mount for the the rear axle. i have the same lift as you with no issue even with the longer shocks in the rear....but once i put the longer shocks in the rear i cut the mount off the body in the rear and dropped it down 3inches and remounted it all with the factory lines. but idont have the bogue unit anymore i can snap some pics if ya like

that might be interesting if you get a chance to snap them I'd appreciate it.  Since I have that kit coming and the starter :)

I also got the extended steering shaft out of the deal already chopped and re-welded for $100 for it and the kit.  Used of course :D

woohoo got shipping notification :D  I might have this installed before the CT run.

I wonder how bad it'll be to change the steering shaft out...

Like Don says. You dont need longer lines unless you have travel that exceeds what the line will flex.....just move the mountings.

Funny but I've done quite a few of the body lifts and have only extended the steering shaft once.....then figured out that you really don't need to.

The biggest pain with the Body lift is remounting the seat belt hardware (I've seen I don't know how many b-lifts where it must have been TOO difficult as they weren't doone....which to me just seems stupid.)

There is the having to fiddle with the bumper mountings..........

Cool thanks for the confirmation on that Matt.

Seat belts are for wussies.......   Kidding I'll do the remount on those.  The bumper gap isn't that big of a deal I have a sorta plan for that down the road.
