So the repair that got me back on the road in Dallas TX on my way home from Fort Sam Houston apparently wasn't meant to be real fix.
They apparently removed the tensioner assembly completely from the vehicle short belted it and but a smaller idler pulley on it at a Saab Dealership!! So today since the belt was so tight the idler pulley disentegrated shredding the belt and leaving me stranded once again. Only this time when the belt let go I got a oil warning light and brake warning light that I don't recall getting last time.
So I called the saab dealer that did the work they said no problem it's warrantied and put me in touch with the local dealer to get it towed in and fixed. Local dealer near boston doesn't have a tow service so they tell me no problem just call saab roadside and get them to tow it in. So I call Saab roadside and they tell me no problem how would I like to pay for the $178 tow fee!
So at this point I get a bit irate for some reason. They say the fee might be reimbursed after they look at the failure and see if it's really the same thing as before. If it is the parts and labor will be covered under the 12 month 12,000 mile warranty and maybe the tow. Which is crazy the repair lasted 21 days and 2,000 miles. 400 dollars to replace a belt and tensioner and that's all it lasts, oh but unless they didn't tighten down the tensioner then they never put one on it and just rigged the repair.
I'm a bit pissed and I'm going outside to see if I can fix the starter on the RRC so I can drive it to work tomorrow.
So the long story of this is does anyone have a trailer I can borrow early tomorrow morning so I can pick up my saab and drop it at the dealership for them to look and it.
If not I guess I'll go rent one but I would rather give one of you some money or beer for the use of the trailer for a day then deal with the morons at u-haul....
Someone please help a brother out.
260 four nine four eight one nine seven is my cell number if you can possibly help out.
