have him run a string around the wheels of the car at hub height.  then adjust the tie rod so there is equal pressure of the string on the tires edges toward the center of the car.  its an old trick that will get him around if the axles are the same width.

It does have its share of problems, but the issue lies mostly with his delayed response time :)

Holiday Inn is where i leave my trailer, plenty of room. Will your truck be registered ? You would still have to drive it from Bruce's place to the trail head if you left it there, although its not that far :)

You should have it registered anyway as two of the roads used as trails (Dickey and Bessey) are both town roads. You also need to be insured to run on Maine roads. Not trying to be a dickhead....technically just the facts. I'd clear it with Bruce before assuming that you can run it. Personally I'd be against having unregistered rigs associated with the event running on the road.....not good press if shit goes bad.

im pretty sure you can get 2 day plates. my temp plate for my rover was close to a month (3 weeks maybe?) I swear to god the other day i saw a car that took a picture of a lisence plate and made it bigger, printed it and tapped it to the back of their mini van. I must have been seeing things.

The other option is to get one of them cool orange triangles for tractors and keep it under 25.

I actually legally have one of those triangles because my dad has a registered tree farm.

I was just looking online at the temp plates.  there are 10 day ones offered and it can be used to take it to a repair shop, or inspection.

orange triangles are cool and all. However a lisence plate is a lisence plate and no one can argue with one of them. Besides the truck doesnt need to be present when they give you the plate, you just go and fill out the forms and your there.
