Alright so I was out in the parking lot by the machine shop at school today workking on my friends grand cherokee.  Its a capable truck and we were putting a winch on it and lights and it already has a 6 1/2" long arm kit so it attracts attention.  So this guy that works at the physical plant came over started alking about him F350 and then offered me his old set of 315/75 R16 bfg Mud terrains.  the tire have about 1/3rd of the tread left still so I no have them.  I am going home on thursday and mounting them up on an extra set of wheels and then getting the jig saw out to fit them on my classic.  I clear 33"s now so I figure it won't be a big problem and the extra width will definatly rub badly at full lock but help me float over the snow in maine.  I just can't wait to see how they work, I know they are too big for my axles bit in the snow they should be fine. the borgwarner case is gently on axles too, I used to run 10 splines and 33's so 24 splines and 35's shouldn't be too  bad if I am .....gentle

I am running a modded 3.9 so it pushed stock power after 20 years, and still the stock R&P but they are only going to be run at romp, I will go back to my 255/85's after for tougher trails.

I can't wait to see how you fair with these. I have always heard that I would snap my axles off with 35's on stock gears with 24 spline. It will be nice to see that proved wrong or right. (Hopefully wrong)

Good luck!

I am worried most about driving them on the pavement to and from the hotel. I am binging my 33's just incase they are too much.  his is more of a test.  yes the rear diff is welded so its likely that something will break, But I am very prepared and more than capable of getting it out of the woods.

As far as crying about it I blew the spider gears out the front and rear diff covers of my old 10 splines 6 months ago and I was just impressed that that was possible.

the borg warner case really is easy on axles though I never snapped axles with the 33's unlocked on the 10 splines so we will see.  I am hoping t be able to float over most things.  If not then I will switch tires and put the chains on.

hey all i can say is the only time i have snapped an axle was when i was wide open going up zuki hill on mabell!!!! and im welded i drive it every day 60+miles to and from work with ltbs!!!! And anybody who knows me knows i do not drivemy truck "easy"...ever. They the other time wasin a snow bank i was high centered on. Again wideopen till the tire dug down and hit the tar spinning at 60mph lol that time i just knew something was going to happen lol The axle are alot stronger then the web wheelers give them credit.......now they arnt like a 30 or 35splie gun drilled high alloy shaft but do fine with a little finness...

I certainly don't take it easy on my truck, its been abused about as bad as yours Don, good to know about the axles holding up on the pavement too.  well you'll all see it up there, hopefully all this rain doesn't pack down the snow too much.  I wanted to see how these tires help me float over the soft stuff.
