Deer Lake in Two weeks
« on: February 24, 2009, 07:30:37 PM »
I was talking to rover guy in my area and I thought two weekends from now, so the weekend of March 7th, on that Sunday, I would like to invite you rover guys down.  I know its a long haul for some but for anyone in the area or anyone up to the drive , I will be doing some wheeling.  the location is the same as the Deer Lake Rally, in Killingworth CT.  Its an hour south from Springfield, and two hours or so from Boston.  just looking to get people together, plan on being here around 11 on Sunday and you can stay until around 5:30.  left me know if your interested and I will give further directions.

good luck with the repair, I will be picking up the replacement axle for you that weekend so I'll have to see when you guys are going wheeling next to drop it off.

OOOHHHHH this might work for me. Do you have specifics ? Time/where to meet and is this relativity easy trail ride. Wife and kids will most likely be in tow. It would be good to see how my stock D1 does off road.

The meeting point is at 101 Paper Mill Road Killingworth, CT 06419.  we will be meeting at 11a.m. and hitting the trail by 12 on Sunday March 8th.  there is a network of local trails we will be using.  this is different terrain than the Deer Lake Rally, which covered some very difficult obstacles.  I will likely have my D1, there are bypasses for anything too dificult in all instances.  If you have a big truck though don't be turned down because it can definatly be tested.  my locked classic on 35's gets stuck some places.

Sounds good. I just need to check for previous engagements that I don't know about.
