Hell, after factoring in business costs known from owning my own companies, and running another one in day to day operation; I still think over a grand for an RTE is worth every penny.

It isn't the easiest thing to understand as it all looks rather simple.

Another thing to keep in mind is that often you will get what you pay for. To cut production and shipping costs some companies will use lighter materials which may not be up to the task depending on intended use.

Generally speaking the bumpers that I have built cost 2-3X as much as "store" bought. These have been built for customers that have not been able to find what they wanted commercially and have been happy to pay the price.

Hey Matt, isn't that an old S.G. bumper?....J/K, looks good

X2 on companies using inferior material. I cut apart an ARB bumper....I was really shocked, after that, I would NEVER use one of those bumpers!!!!...scary.

X2 on ARB stuff. Proves what paying lots of advertising dollars does for a company's reputation.

yup, it's "Old SG" *

Follow up post:

Thing is that it's all what you expect your end use to be.

I think ARB makes fine product. Designed in a country where "Roo Bars" are almost manditory. ARB bumpers are well designed for that purpose.....shedding wildlife, and protecting occupants.....for which a bumper made for rock bashing would be of little use. ARB bumpers are desdigned to absorb energy, are tested and engineered to be road legal.....and therefore are not built to chisel granite.

My bumper makes use of the other vehicle as a "crumple zone" which is something completely different and is designed for "off road use only"

that bumper on the green RRC is really pretty...

well my purposes are mostly just going to be replacing the beat/rusted OEM bumpers my truck is wearing right now. that, and hold a winch and a hammock mount.

but i plan on keeping my truck forever... i will probably end up with RTE, there Slimline design was the first aftermarket bumper i feel in love with when i started looking around over a year ago
