245/75 tires
« on: May 25, 2009, 12:47:22 PM »
Hey, has anyone got 265/75 tires on there range rover classic, I am thinking of getting that size in BF MT's. The rover is 2in higher than stock and I was wondering if anyone has had rubbing problems with the wider wheel.

i know that i put some 285 75's on mine with an hd 2 inch rovertym lift and have no issues stuffing with stock wheels and so far no trimming, but they do rub the radius arms but you can just adjust the steering stops so they don't rub.

Well; I'm confused. Are you asking about 245's as in the title, or 265's as in the text?

You shouldn't have any issues with the 245's. With the 265's, I would expect light rubbing.
I have 265's on my RRC with 2" Blues on it. Light rubbing at full lock. Steering stops set full out. But not bad enough for concern.
2002 LR DII SE Kalahari Edition. 4.6, locking CDL, and Detroits.
1994 LR RRC LWB. EAS conversion w/ +2" springs.
1968 LR SIIA 88" Hybrid, with 109" 1 ton axles SOA. Needs Tartis for completion.

1979 LR SIII 5 door 109 SW, 11 seater. Sold, 09'.
1997 Disco I Bobtailed buggy conversion. Sold, 11'.

I run 265/75's on my classic as my long commute truck with OME springs. No more rubbing with a steering stop adjustment (though rather atrocious turning radius). 245/75 would be similar. 265/75 is a good size IMHO.
