You could always order a set of top hat liners and 4.6 pistons from the UK, and have it rebuilt...

Or build it into a 5.2, convert to a manual, with a tornado( Mark Adams) chip and you'll be in the 325hp area.

Ben a 350 isn't as easy as that. Can be done, but then you have to go through and design the BCU to operate along with the ECU that currently isn't tied into a factory motor, ie. fuel injection, etc.

It would be a HUGE P.I.T.A. and it's not a valuable move and a poor investment choice. If you were to try to sell down the road, your potential buyers list would be very short.

I mean come on Ben, I thought you were a "Mostly Old Parts And Rust" kinda guy.....why not a Hemi?................. ;-)

True Don, but you're not comparing apples to apples. A D2 isn't as friendly to that type of a swap, if you still want to have a " correctly" functioning truck. Like power windows, seat and all that jazz. Agreed on the price difference though. Rover junk is too expensive for what it truly is.

i figured saying something like a built 426 crate hemi would get this discussion way to much into a argument then just talk haha.......and i know its not the same but someone on here has a 350 vortec (i believe) in their d-90...correct me if i am wrong. And with the price it probably is( id ont know much about rovers and their motors) to build up a 4.6 has got to be some seriouse cash compared to an american motor...basides wouldnt you love to have 500 ft.lbs of torque?

Agreed Ben. It's crazy money to build a rover motor. I wouldn't do it personally.
Putting a 350 into a 90 is much easier than trying to fit one in a D2 and have EVERYTHING function as it should. That's the only point I was trying to make.

I've been considering dropping in a Buick 225 odd fire into my D2 just to piss people off.

There's a 54,000 mile 4.6 out of a 2004 DII, in a June 11th ad on LRX ( http://www.landroverexchange.com ) He's only asking 1600.00. That's a steal for that engine.
